Hi A/all,

Does anyone have any plans for making your own leather cat, whip, scourge etc?

Anything really. i'd love to be able to go to the workshops you all talk about, but unfortunatly in the UK, especially in the North East there aren't any anywhere! :(
i'd like to be able to make some new toys for Master. i know i can buy them, but i'd like to try to make Him some myself, for the personal touch so to speak.
i had an idea for a zipper, but other that that, i can't think, nore find anything plan wise.

All help would be apprieciated please?

Thank You

kaz

Hi kaz. I will have to come back to you with more information. I am sure I can help but time is short right now. You can start on a website that I have referred to, myself, so many times over the years.....The Frugal Domme. Go to the site and click on the "how to make toys" link on the left. You will get a lot of the basics from this site, alone.

http://www.frugaldomme.com/frugal.htm

I will come back and give you more reading online to get you going. Between those and the advice of our other members, I am sure we can get you off and running.

Hi again, kaz,

Check out the David Morgan site for some books on whip making/braiding.

http://www.davidmorg...a9631662e072e86

They are also a source of kangaroo hide and kangaroo lace. There is no better material for whips. I understand that because of a two year drought in Australia, the price of kangaroo hide is extremely high right now.

If you are looking to make floggers or quirts, you can go into all kinds of different leathers and finishes. Each gives the toy you make a different feel.

Here's a book on making floggers...

http://www.tbbbb.com...id_flogger.html

This site has a nice embedded video on how to make one style of flogger

Another link that may have other useful links on it,,,,

I will keep looking around for anything specific that I like, kaz, and will pass it along here when I do.

Another great site that helped me begin working with leather is:

Even includes newbie info, tools and tips & techniques.

Hi kaz,

Here are two more to add to the list.

I have made two different floggers myself. The first was a rope flogger, out of cotton rope. Someone that I know had made one for themselves and I just sort of copied it. It is heavy but can used with the tails loose to be softer and more sensation play. Or you can braid and/or knot the tails to give it more "bite". I suppose that if you used rawhide or jute instead of cotton rope, that would work as well. Actually, almost any material that can be wrapped around a wooden dowel would make a flogger....furr, lamb's wool....etc

I also have the book, Kinky Crafts, and I made a rubber flooger from the directions there. That one is made out of a bicycle inner tube and is sweetly sharp and nasty. :angeldevil: .

If either of those interest you, please email me and I will gladly type out some directions and get some photos uploaded. Email is earthjewel59@yahoo.com. I dont pop in here often enough and time is ticking down. :-)

Easy to make and very inexpensive nipple clips are found in a sewing or quilting store, here, they are called bodkins.

You can personalise simple clothespins with acrylic paint and decals found in a crafts store.

A leather glove and some craft brads used upside down and inside the palm of the glove and presto.....vampire gloves.....

Garden shops have bamboo for staking plants, instant canes.

I don't work with leather, not for crafting, I am too cheap, um, frugal and too Type A to work with the expense of leather.

It was not my lips you kissed, but my soul."

YAY! Great post, Kaz!

I love making things myself. I don't know why I never thought to ask.

(happy dance)

I'd love to hear you progress and what you choose to make for him. And, if you like, pics of the toys would be awesome. :)

Good Luck!
